Nominations are subject to eligibility requirements.
Eligibility Requirements
(Information for the Non-Profit)
To be a potential recipient, an organization must meet all of the following criteria:
Recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. In general, no schools, booster clubs, political parties, giving circles or religious organizations will be eligible.
In operation for at least three years as of the date of nomination.
Must provide direct services to Addison County residents.
In addition, all potential recipients must agree to:
Complete a Prequalification Form.
Give a brief presentation at a quarterly meeting if invited.
Provide an update to the group on how funds were used.
Selection Process:
(Completed by the Steering Committee)
Three organizations are drawn at random from the potential recipient pool two weeks prior to each quarterly meeting.
Those three organizations will be asked to give a 5 minute presentation during the quarterly meeting followed by a brief Q & A if time permits.
The members will vote for one of the three presenting organizations by a majority polling system at each quarterly meeting.
The selected organization is not eligible to be re-nominated for another award for 24 months.
And the two organizations that receive 15% are not eligible for re-nomination for 12months.
